Samuel then took a large stone and placed it between the towns of Mizpah and Jeshanah. He named it Ebenezer (which means “the stone of help”), for he said, “Up to this point the LORD has helped us!”1 Samuel 7:12

Mission & Vision of Ebenezer Reformed Church

Mission Statement   Ebenezer Reformed church is committed to teach God’s Word, be a caring community of believers, serve God, be transformed into fully devoted followers of Christ, magnify His name and share the good news with those who do not know Him.

This statement is summarized in our working motto:

Loving God. Loving Others.   Vision Statement   The vision of Ebenezer Reformed Church is to be faithful, vibrant, dynamic, passionate and obedient   to our King so that our community is transformed into fully devoted followers of Jesus.

Ebenezer Reformed Church’s Kingdom & Core Values

Kingdom Values

  • Christ is head of the Church. We ask:  Where is Christ at work and how can we join Him? (Ephesians 1:15-23)
  • God leads His church through recognized spiritual leaders, empowered staff and equipped believers (Ephesians 4:1-16). Pastor leads; Consistory governs; Staff manages; Congregation ministers.
  • We have been blessed to be a blessing. (Genesis 12:1-3)
  • We live in and under the authority of Jesus. (Colossians 1:15-20)
  • Transformed lives are the primary tool for Jesus to pervade His power, presence and control through the world. (Ephesians 4:20-24)
  • Serving is the path to greatness. (John 13; Philippians 2:1-11)
  • In loosing our life we find it. (Matthew 16:24-26)
  • Reach the World for Jesus Christ. (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8)
  • Every member of the body is important. (1 Corinthians 12)

The purpose of service is so God can reach others through our hands. In II Cor. 9:12-13, the Bible says that the service we provide not only meets needs but expresses thanks to God and leads others to praise God. The Bible also says that service builds up the “body of Christ.”  This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, others will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else.
In I Cor. 12:4, the Bible explains that there are different kinds of service and then identifies many ways to provide service to others.  There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them.

                           Loving God.  Loving Others.
Ebenezer Reformed church is committed to supporting and helping those in our community as well as sharing the good news with those who do not know Him

Our God is a God of abundance and He loves to give. He sacrificed willingly on the cross and then invited us into fullness of life. As His children, we are called to imitate Him. Our generosity in giving is a demonstration of God’s character and a response to what He has done for us.
